"Education for Work and Life" 

Poteau Adult Learning Center provides:

• Educational opportunities for adults who need basic skills improvement in reading, writing, and math.
• General Education Development (GED) preparation for students who did not complete high school.
• English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESL) classes to individuals wishing to improve their English reading, writing and speaking skills.

The Poteau Adult Learning Center has been recognized as the top performing Adult Education Program in the state of Oklahoma.

Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes are available throughout the county to students ages 18 and older.  Exceptions may be made for students ages 16 and 17 after an appointment with Poteau Adult Learning Center Director.  To schedule an appointment call 918-647-7728 or 918-647-7723. 

Englsih as a Second Language (ESL) classes are available to anyone 18 years of age and older.  Anyone interested in attending ESL classes may begin a scheduled class at any time.
