Poteau High School FootballGregory Werner, Head Coach
What you need to know about playing football at Poteau High School:
High School Football (practice 7th hour to approx 6:00pm)
9th grade football (practice 4th hour and then comes back after school to approx 4:30pm)
Biggest requirement is being at practice every day. If you are sick, you need to contact a coach and tell them the reason you were not there. Realize missing practice can cost you playing time.
Once our players reach 8th grade we like them to start lifting weights. In the summer we have a summer lifting program. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. High School lifts from 7am to 9am.
Poteau has had a lot of success in football and would like to continue that success. It takes alot of work and dedication to be a Poteau Pirate Football Player. If the work is put in and each individual puts the team ahead of his individual goals, success is achievable.
